Look no further! We help our clients obtain permits from the city to register their basements. There are two types of basement permits.
One is called a legal basement permit. Also known as a second dwelling unit or a rental basement permit.
Another is called a personal use basement permit. Also known as Finish basement permit or owner use basement.
Legal basement needs to follow the Ontario Building Code requirements in order to register for the legal with the city. Legal basement needs to have a separate entrance, it needs to have an Egress window, interconnected smoke alarms, sprinkler in the furnace room and appropriate fire separation between the main dwelling and the basement.
